Interested in a more flexible, cost-effective solution to file sharing than its existing on-premises file servers and network shares, Spirent Communications sought answers in the Cloud. After using a popular Enterprise File Sync and Share service for two years, Spirent’s IT department recently made a decision to move the entire organization into Microsoft’s Office 365 platform for storage, collaboration and productivity.
“Office 365 is a complete suite and provides an end-to-end solution from a productivity standpoint. It has all of the basic Office features but also provides us online access from anywhere, which we didn’t have when everything was running on-premises,” said Ryan Au, Senior Developer in IT at Spirent Communications. “Since OneDrive for Business is included in our Office 365 licenses, we decided to leave our initial Cloud storage service to save costs.”
To realize that cost savings, Spirent needed a way to migrate several hundred users and all of their content to their new OneDrive accounts from their previous cloud service.
