“Then we realized that more than 95% of content has never been used. And we realize basically that we were migrating tons of terabytes of data for absolutely nothing. So it’s a long process; there’s a bunch of testing. People were testing files that were never used.”

“The number one thing I think people did was to not test enough. So you’d go to run the migration thinking that you had it all covered, and you’d come across an issue that was just a show stopper. And you couldn’t continue with the migration, had to do a rollback. And had to have another maintenance window later to complete that migration.”

“What we see you, and why organizations approach us so often is that the content is only one part. But the other part is what they actually did to the environment. How they customized it, and how they configured it. Which might cause trouble when they move the content because their customizations don’t exist in the target environment anymore. Or don’t work in the same way that they worked before.”
